Do Sit Ups Cause Diarrhea?

My grandson who is 10 and a bit overweight was forced to attempt 100 situps in one minute in PE yesterday. He said he managed about 60. He woke up this morning with diahreah (sp.?) and has had it off and all day now. We are taking him to his doctor in the am, but he is in some pain and we are wondering if the situps may have caused an injury that would bring about this problem? thank you.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
Sit ups in a child of 10 is not known to cause diarrhea.
The obvious cause can be gut flu or a bacterial intestinal infection.
This can be diagnosed BT stool test.
Consult a Pediatrician for clinical evaluation, examination, investigations to get a proper diagnosis and have proper treatment.
Give him only boiled and cooled water, home- made frsh food.
Maintain fluid and electrolyte balance.
Avoid dehydration.
