Do Tenderness In The Breast And A Burning Pain Near The Nipples Need Immediate Medical Attention?

I have noticed a tender left breast this week that touch . I actually told my internist that I should probably have another mammogram when I have my physical in November. Tonight after dinner I returned home and have experienced a sudden onset of burning pain near nipple. It is slightly intermittent in strength going from excruciating and then calming a bit for a minute or too as I lay very still, but the returns as a burning type pain a 10 on a scale of 1-10.

Hi,

Breast pain may be associated with menstrual cycle it is called cyclical breast pain not associated with cycle call non cyclical pain.Noncyclic breast pain often results from changes that occur in the milk ducts or milk glands.

This can result in the development of breast cysts. Breast trauma, prior breast surgery or other factors localized to the breast can lead to breast pain.
