Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my son is 11 years old, is 5 3 , weighs 200 lbs and has a good health history with no illness other than the common cold. He is recently diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia and will begin treatment in a couple of days. Do you think I should ask his DR to check his gluten tollerance?
GLUTENENTEROPATHY USUALLY APPEARS IN THE AGE OF 6 MONTH TO 2 YEARS AS THE CHILD IS EXPOSED TO WHEAT WHEN WE START COMPLEMENTARY FEEDING.. IF THERE IS POSITIVE HISTORY OF GLUTEN INTOLEANC IN THE FAMILY THAN YOU SHOULD GO FOR THE SCREENING FOR THE ATYPICAL MENIFESTATION OF THE DISEASE
