Do Weight Loss Plans Often Lead To Weight Gain After A While?
Weight loss question. I'm on a weight loss program. I've been eating on plan and have lost 8.5 lbs. Two weeks ago I started working out (weight lifting and cardio at a gym) and have been putting weight back on. I've still been eating according to the plan. Can this be expected?
Hi Hope you are fine. Yes, You need to consider that you are having fat loss and gaining muscle mass. You need to assess fat percentage and lean mass. While endurance and strength resistance training , you increase your muscle mass . In this case you are losing fat but you are gaining lean mass, so it is good thing. Many athletes those who are on strength resistance training they gain good amount of mass but their BMI shows in the range of Obesity. So those who are on strength training and Athletes, BMI is not good indicator of their fitness, so they need to focus on fat percentage instead of BMI.
Hope I have answered your query. Best wishes
