Hi, I have had chalazia for over a year. The old ones have pretty much gone away on there own. However, I continue to get some form of them daily. All the doctors I have gone to, only suggest surgery. I am looking for a preventative cure... no one knows how to solve the problem. Do you? Does Boric acid work... My elders recommended this approach
I reviewed your history. Boric acid is not used yo treat chalazion. The treatment for multiple chalazion is by intralesional injection of steroids. The underlying cause also needs to be evaluated. The common causes responsible for multiple and recurrent chalazion are blrohatitis, uncorrected refractive error, diabetes, decreased immunity.... In elderly people malignancies of meibomian gland also needs to be considered.
Thank you
