Does Clonazepam Cause Memory Loss?

I have been on clonazepam for several years t.i.d. Could this be causing some memory loss in the last several months at which I underwent implantation of a morphine pump due to chronic pain from deg disc disease, several back operations and I have 2 bulging discs at this time?

Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine drug and it is a brain depressant drug. The drug is known to cause cognitive impairment and loss of memory on long term use. You also had morphine pump which also increase the risk. I would advise you to stop using clonnazepam because chronic use will further deteriorate the memory impairment. If impairment persist then cognitive enhancer drugs like Memantin, Donepezil can prove useful.
Consult a psychiatrist for prescription of these drugs.
