Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Had colonoscopy one month ago. Prior blood pressure readings were around 125/75-80. I was taking 30 mg audiophile for high bp that I had for about 15 years. Now my bpd is staying about 110 or 115/ 60! I am good health, 57 white female. About 8 lbs over weight. Some exercise. Doc said go to half of bpd meds, but still staying that. Is it from colonoscopy or prep? Thanks
Dear Sir/ Madam Thanks for your query. Merely undergoing a colonoscopy is not good enough a reason for lower blood pressure. Although blood pressure changes, especially it decreases in summers or when you drink less water for long duration or when you are out of a long term stress. Since your real life doctor is suggesting a cut in medicines, you should follow his advise and remain under monitoring. If BP goes up again, he may increase the dose. That seems logical. Sincerely Sukhvinder
