side effects of your medication includes dry eyes, dry mouth, constipation... duration of treatment depends on the severity of your disease and comorbid conditions... diabetes, old age, prostate enlargement, neuropathy all lead to over active bladder which is what you are being treated for. aside from medication you can do a couple of things to decrease your symptoms. try some kegel exercises, limit your fluid intake and restrict it to at least an hour or two before bed, fix your bathroom schedule so that you don't wait for your bladder to become full, instead you empty it after fixed hours.
