Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
The cream you have been using contains a topical steroid, desonide. Topical steroids should never be used on face for that long. Excessive steroid use Or steroid abuse on face can cause side effects like acne, sensitive skin, redness, rashes and sun sensitivity. I suggest you to discontinue it. Your skin would be sensitive and therefore you must use a broad spectrum sunscreen to protect from sun, throughout the day. Acne needs to be treated with topical antiacne preparations like clindamycin or benzoyl peroxide gel. Oral antibiotics may also be started if your acne is inflammatory i.e red, painful and pustular. You may use a gentle cleanser for face wash e.g cetaphil cleansing lotion.
