Does Dexamethasone Cause Tingling In The Forearm?

I went to the doctor today for a sore throats and body ache. Negative strep and negative flu. They gave me a dexamethasone 10 mg/ml injection. That was at around 12:00pm today and now around 8:00pm both of my forearms are tingly. Is this a side effect of the shot

Hi, thanks for your query on Healthcare Magic.

I understand your concern.

Dexamethasone is one of the anti-inflammatory drugs of steroids.
Dexamethasone drugs often cause side effects as follows:
1. Gastrointestinal disturbances such as abdominal pain and nausea
2. Opportunistic fungal infections
3. Confusion and sleep disturbance
4. Weight gain
5. Weakness in the muscles of the body
6. Menstruation is not smooth
7. Osteoporosis
8. Disorders of growth.

Your sense of tingling could be one of the effects of this drug. As long as it's not too distracting, you should not worry too much.

All you need to remember is never to stop taking this drug without a doctor's permission. So all the discomfort that arises after taking this drug should be reported to your doctor.

Take care.
