Does Diaretic Cause Memory Loss?

Just wondered. I take a slight amount of diaretic for mild high Blood pressure ,and seem to be doing fine , but I wondered if my memory loss could be from this also. I have always had a hard time remembering names ,but now I m forgetting appts. I ve made . I m 61 work full time with an Autistic boy and am healthy otherwize. I take alot of vit. and Minerals. and a green drink every day I walk ,meditate,and go to meet people and dance 2 x s a month. BARB

There are different types of diuretics. You may want to check out the specific side effect profile of the diuretic that you are using.

In general , diuretics are not associated with changes in mental status.

You may need to consider assessment by your doctor to determine if there are any treatable causes for the memory loss.
