Sir, I am suffering from a type of dry dandruff in back portion of head over 6 months. After consulting a specialist, he suggest to use Candid B lotion and Keraglo shampoo. After applying for a month no much changes found. Then I consult a another doctor he prescribes Topisal Clobetasol Propionate 0.05%w/w, Salicyclic Acid 6%. After applying this also no much changes notices. No he prescribes Diprovate lotion. Before applying I would like to seek your opinion. Thank you.
It may not be simple dandruff. It may be a disease called pityriasis amiantacea...as you have dandruff like greasy scaly plaques on the back part of the scalp. The crusts and scale may be thick and hardly would have attached to the scalp. Kindly consult the dermatologist for the firm diagnosis.
I would suggest..
- clobetasole with salicylic acid lotion to apply on the affected parts twice a day - shampoo daily with coal tar containing shampoo - tab deflacort 6 mg thrice a day... Reduce the dose weekly ..then stop - antihistaminics if itching is there - antibiotic if needed
I hope this would help you
Thanks...
