Does Gilbert's Syndrome Lead To Become Under Weight?
I was diagnosed a few years ago with Gilbert's syndrome. My whole life I have struggled with being underweight and think now it may be as a result of this syndrome. I don't drink or smoke and generally have good health. It cannot put on weight. Should I just accept my fate?
Gilbert's disease is a metabolic error that causes elevated bilirubin when body is stressed during fasting. This is a completely benign condition and does not cause any other manifestations.
Your weight condition is probably due to your overall metabolism. If you have already tried using dietary changes to increase weight then perhaps additional supplements like Glucerna or other nutritional supplement may help with your weight
Good luck
