Does Hydrochorothiazide 25 Mg Tablet Cause Vaginal Irritation And Weight Gain?

Hello. I have been taking hydrochorothiazide 25 mg. for about half a year and I have had severe vaginal irritation and have gained weight drastically. I do not eat junk food and am very active. My stomach has ballooned and I never had this before. Reading on the internet that some people have the same problems. Is this possible.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

In some persons increased frequency of urination can cause irritation of the genitalia, this is a possible cause of the vaginal irritation but it is not a common reported side effect.

Weight gain is also not a medically documented side effect of hydrochlorothiazide because it causes fluid loss.
It can be associated with constipation in some persons which would then cause bloating and abdominal distension.

You may want to be assessed for other possible causes of your weight gain.

I hope this helps
