Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had 4 episodes of severe chest pain...upon having an ekg, chest X-ray, and blood work, the doctor prescribe ot can meds for acid reflux. While I think that I may be experiencing some sort of digestion issue.....I now know that each episode resulted after I took 800 mg of ibuprofen. I mentioned to a nurse fri friend that I wanted to take ibuprofen but was afraid to have an attack...she said I should take it during the day with food and that perhaps the attack was a result of taking the med at night....so today I took it at lunch 600 mg and within 30 mins the pain began and lasted 2 1/2 hrs. It s like a gripping pain deep in between my breast.

I can understand your problem. Causes of chest pain:
1) Strained chest Muscles. In teens, new chest pain is mostly from stretched chest muscles (muscle overuse).
2) sleeping in an awkward position or fixing something on the ceiling.
3) sports injury
4) drug induced.
Treatment: Some common self-care strategies include:
1) Rest.
2) Avoid Ibuprofen
3) Go for X-ray chest
Take care and try to reduce use of Ibuprofen.
