Being treated for Afib, have a pacemaker, and had an ablation a few months back. Taking Diltiazem, Atenolol, & Synthroid daily. Thinks were going well except BP running high. Put on pms-indapamide recently and since then I suspect the irregular heartbeat is back. Could this be caused by the Indapamide?

Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Divakara's Response
Hi Thanks for posting your query.
Indapamide is a long acting diuretic which is used as anti hypertensive also. By itself indapamide will not cause irregularities in heart beats. But it can cause abnormalities in potassium levels in blood which can cause irregular heart beats. Also your thyroid medications can cause irregular heart beats. I advise you to get Serum potassium serum TSH and revert back with reports.
