Hello, we used I-Pill with in 48 hrs of unprotected sex. There is a delay in monthly periods hence finally decided to go for a pregnancy test. Unfortunately result was +Ve. Doctor advised us to terminate the pregnancy as we used I Pill and it causes adverse results especially to the foetus. Please advise on this.
Regarding your query for termination of pregnancy. The baby most likely did not receive this drug as it takes some time after conception for the baby to actually come in contact with the uterus and maternal system [implantation of the baby in the uterus]. So when the I pill was in the system, the baby was most likely hanging in the tube and not in contact with the mother. Having said this, we cannot be absolutely sure that it did not receive any drug. Accidental pregnancies after I pills have not reported any adverse effects in the babies though complete information is not available.
So I suggest that you keep all these facts in mind while taking a decision. Should you decide to continue pregnancy, get a nuchal thickness scan, triple test, a level 4 ultrasound and amniocentesis [if needed ] to rule out any congenital abnormalities. Hope this helped.
