Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my 4 front teeth are missing actually broke off from my gum about a yr ago. I left the ones in the gum and now one is acking, but not hurting as I thought it had a root canal along with the others. It is red and swollen. I have had each hip replaced so I have to have antibiotics before any treatment. I have Levofloxacin 500 MG from times before and thought I would take that for the infection now but was not sure if it was for that , I am pretty sure it was . Also I have clindamycin 1 3 x a day I need to take something as it is aching. I want to make app monday if possible and need antibiotic before they get worked on.
It looks like you have only root stumps of the teeth left and it is causing infection in the remnants of teeth as well as the adjoining gums making them red and swollen..
You should take antibiotics and I would suggest you to take Clindamycin for 3 days and then proceed for getting the roots removed followed by bridge or implant placement..
Also to reduce pain you can take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen, do warm saline gargles and do not let food accumulate in that area.. Do antiseptic mouthwash gargles..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
