Does Lisinopril Cause Cough And Swelling Of Legs And Feet?

My doctor just switched my blood pressure medicine from Triamterene hctz to lisinopril. I have been taking it for two weeks and have noticed my legs and feet are swollen more than usual. I also have a cough that has started up which I thought was asthma related but now I wonder if it is caused by the lisinopril. Could these things be caused by the lisinopril (20mg)? Would it be safe to go back to the old BP med and increase the does from 1 capsule to two a day? (37.5 MG)

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that the cough is related to the lisinopril . It is not as commonly associated with swelling.

The maximum dose of triamterene HCTZ is 37.5 mg and you can consider this does but you would need to speak to your doctor to let him or her know about the change in medications.
You would need to let them know about the issues that you are having with your current meds.

I hope this helps
