Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Good Afternoon, I am currently 14 weeks pregnant and have been sneezing and runny nose for the last 5 weeks and headaches as well. I have been trying to avoid taking anything but finally gave in and took Loratadine, USP 10mg/Pseudoepherdine Sulfate, USP 240MG that was recommended by Pharmacist. Do you think this will damage my baby. I am worried. Thank you.
There is no need to worry as Loratadine has no teratogenic potential.
Studies in animals have failed to reveal evidence of teratogenicity or embryotoxicity. It is a pregnancy category B1 drug which has been taken by only a limited number of pregnant women and women of childbearing age, without an increase in the frequency of malformation or other direct or indirect harmful effects on the human fetus having been observed.

Does Loratadine Possess Any Teratogenic Effect?
Dear Madam, Hi & Welcome. For the symptomatic relief of cold I would recommend nasal decongestants like Oxymetazoline or Xylometazoline nasal drops or nasal spray. Hope this would help you.
