Hi, The muscle stiffness in disc prolapse is due to nerve pinching at vertebral column level. The muscular stiffness( in acute phase) caused by disc prolapse is managed by- - rest while maintaining normal spinal curvature - Hot/cold compresses - Injection Neurobion will sooth the pinched nerve & thus aid healing process.& also muscle stiffness to some extent. It does not have role in pain relief in arthritis. - NACIDs ( may be taken in injectable forms / rectal suppositories with your doctor's advise Once the pain is reduced, regular physiotherapy with expert advise is the best answer. Thanks.
