Does Neurontin Cause Restlessness In The Muscles?

I have been suffering with a bludging disc that is causing sciatic pain in my right buttock, thigh, and calf for 8 months. I had a guided epidural which failed to work, went to PT for a week which make thing worse. I went to the docotor today and he prescribed; neurontin 100mg alsong with decadron 4mg. Today was first day taking meds, and tonight I cannot sleep because my muscles in body are restless, I cannot get comfortable. Is this a common side effect or is this another issue completely? Thank you for your time and advise.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Muscle weakness, loss of coordination and weakness can occur with Neurontin. Though, one should wait for a few days as it subsides with regular use. Adding a muscle relaxant to this regimen would be a good option such as Cyclobenzaprine.

Hope I have answered your query.
