Does Nitroglycerin Interact With Other Drugs While On Treatment For Heart Problem?
My doctor is starting me on nitroglycerin for my heart. Are there any drug interactions between that and the following: Clonidine Tramiterene Doxycycline Levothyroxine Fexofenadine Bystolic Crestor Nexium Zegerid Glucosamine/condroitin Cabergoline Preservision Potassium Calcium/D Alpha Lipoic Acid Thank you.
Nitroglycerin interacts with cabergoline. It decreases the breakdown of the cabergoline therefore causing increase in the cabergoline levels. This increases the risk of angina and elevated blood pressure.
The sodium bicarbonate decreases the levels of the doxycycline which woudl then decrease its effectiveness. They should be separated by 2 hours.
I hope this helps
