Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i am on nystatin oral just started because of a number of antiubotics abd it making my mouth sore already. Should it be doing that already after oone day I am taking nystatin oral this the2nd day now and my mouth is all ready sore. Should it be doing that aiready?
Soreness of the mouth, you are experiencing is due to antibiotic use and not from Nystatin. Instead, Nystatin is helping reduce the soreness and restore the normal function and lining of oral mucosa. However, this action would take a little bit to take place, so must be patient and persistent in following your doctor's advice rigorously. For the moment, I'd advise to apply glycerin of borax locally to help ease the local irritation. Avoid citrus and other acidic foods/drinks.
Hope I have answered your query.
