Does Ovral Cause Any Side Effects?

Hi doctor, I didn t get my monthly mensuration till date. My last LMP was 22nd july 14, but I am not pregnant. I consulted the Dr. and took ultrasound on Endomentrium thickness. It seems to thin around 4.75mm Dr. has prescribed me Ovral l for 21 days to regulate my periods. But at present I don t have a child, by taking this tablet does this will prevent my pregancy in future? Pl guide and help me.

You are not getting menstruation and your endometrium thickness is 4.75 mm ( normal for conception must be 9 mm ).
Sometimes amenoorhea ,as in your case and also endometrium thickness ( lesss than normal size ) may be due to hormonal imbalance or changes .
Using ovral ( levonrogeatrol +ethinyl ) can sometimes help regulate hormone levels so that these abnormalities can be taken care of.
Your gynae will likely want to come back after you have been on the ovral to see if the abnormalities is gone .
At that time the doctor may suggest you to stop using the medication or if indicated , you may need to continue it for a bit longer.
Once you stop the OVRAL . as long as there are no medical concerns, you shouldn't have any problems with FUTURE CONCEPTION.
Many women will use ovral for purposes other than preventing pregnancy.
Then they stop taking them when they want to conceive.
