Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am currently taking pantoprazole for gastric ulcer but am suffering from chest infection and acute asthma at the moment so have been prescribed prednisolone (which I have taken before). Just wondering which I should take first to make sure that prednisolone is effective?
There's no documented interaction between the two prescribed medications. Steroids like Prednisolone are usually given to treat acute exacerbation of asthma only for a short period of time and reduced gradually over a period of time. To be more effective Pantoprazole works best when it is taken 30 minutes before your first meal (breakfast) hence you are advised to take it half an hour before your breakfast.
Hope this answers your query.
