ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello,
Penicillin is useful to treat some ear infections. That doctor would have thought it was the best antibiotic for his ear condition. Pus collection behind the ear drum causes ear pain and rupture of ear drum causes blood stained ear discharge.
If the ear pain is reducing no need to worry as the ear discharge eventually stops.
I would suggest your son can revisit the doctor and get his ears cleaned.
No need to worry, as this is usually how the disease progresses.
All the best
