Does Pentaxim Injection Have A Painless Substitute?
hello doctor we are at kolkata,my baby boy is 11 weeks old today.and his 2 nd dose of booster and hib is due .at 6 weeks we had given pentaxim as it is painless and has no sideeffect of getting fever afterwards.but this time we consulted 2 doctors they say it's not available in the market ,the ones they have is a painful one.I don't want my baby to bear that much pain and get fever.is there any other painless option available which you can suggest.I am very worried about my baby please help.
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns but it is fact that pentaxim is in short supply , other vaccine infanrix is also not available , so option is to try if stock available with any doctor or to go for regular whole cell ( painful ) vaccine . Personally I prefer whole cell vaccine , you can give round the clock paracetamol for pain and fever as protection of baby is more important .
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. Take care.
