Does Primolut Prevent Bleeding Once The Course Is Complete?

i have mirena since feb this year and I have had bleeding every 10 days with my periods lasting 2-2 1/2 weeks at a time my doc put me on primulet n and I would like to know when I finish the course will I once again get my period. I am about to go on holidays and I do not want to have them while I away. I have also been told I have a fibroid about 29mm on the left ovary. the periods are heavy also. I am a bit concerned as the doc said they should stop by 6 months and I have still got them.

Hi,

You may continue Progesterone with the permission of your gynecologist till you complete your holidays. Or else a possibility of bleeding is there on stopping it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. B. Radhakrishnan. Nair, OBGYN
