Does Primolut Withdrawal Lead To Heavy Vaginal Bleeding?
Hi. I am taking primolut because I had been bleeding for more than a month non stop because I am wearing implanon. I m scared of what is going to happen because my last dose is on Monday and I have a doctors appointment for Wednesday. I m I going to bleed immediately and is it going to be be heavy and will I be in pain. I m so scared because I have been on vacation and resuming work on Friday and don t want the whole drama because I m thinking of removing the implanon.
First of all, do not panic. Usually when on Implanon, menstrual blood loss is minimal. As you are required to take additional progesterone tablet to control the bleeding, you need to get it investigated thoroughly.
I will suggest you get USG done to know about the structural normalcy of the uterus, cervix, and ovaries. Diagnostic Hysteroscopy and endometrial biopsy should be done to know about the endometrium. If needed a course of combined oral contraceptive pills like Overal L for 22 days will be of help.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
