Does Sertraline Cause Diarrhea?

I was originally prescribed Sertraline 50 MG for night flushes due to the withdrawl of HRT Doctor. Recently i was given Sertraline 100MG for anxiety however i have developed Acute/CHronic Diarrhea near to the time i commenced on 100MG. Is this connected?

Yes, Sertraline can cause diarrhea.

Sertraline is an antidepressant. It is used to treat depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders (including panic disorder and social anxiety disorder), post-traumatic stress disorder, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder.

Side effects :
•     drowsiness or tiredness;
•     insomnia or agitation;
•     indigestion, nausea, diarrhea, loss of appetite;
•     sweating;
•     tremors or shaking;
•     sleep problems (insomnia); or
•     decreased sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm.
