Does Tizanidine Have Any Negative Interactions With Magnesium Supplement?

my question is, i have been taking magnesium for help with my circulation and a chronic back injury for about 2 weeks now. It seems to be working well, but this past week when i went for a run/job my legs were unable to run like i use to. I also take the medication tizanidine for muscle spasms, does this interact with magnesium?

Hi & Welcome.

Based on the history given you seem to have developed fatigue or muscle weakness apparently caused by hyperkalemia (high blood potassium level) resulting from potassium supplements.

Beside the muscle relaxant Tizanidine itself may cause muscle weakness, so this weakness seems to be aggravated by concomitant potassium supplements.

Consult your doctor for proper assessment and to rule out other causes of muscle weakness you may also need either dose adjustment of the medications or an alternate effective but a safer medication to treat your muscle spasm.
Hope this will help.
Best regards.
