Does Vit D Supplement Have Any Side Effects?

Yes, I am a 46 year old male and was prescribed vitamin D3 tablet for deficient vitamin D level. I began taking the vitamins last year, around November, December time frame. I have noticed that my face is breaking out. Is recurring acme break outs a side effect of taking this supplement?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
Vitamin D if taken oral daily below 4000U are usually safe if you dont have any kidney problem , parathyroid abnormalities, atherosclerosis, sarcoidosis or any malignancies. In case of such abnormalities dose should be adjusted and patient should be monitored. Some side effects of taking too much vitamin D include weakness, fatigue, sleepiness, headache, loss of appetite, dry mouth, metallic taste, nausea, vomiting, and others.Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further query.
