Does Vitex Alone Help To Treat Thickened Endometrium?
Had an ultrasound last day of menstrual period and showed enlarged uterus and endometrium at 10mm with inhomogenous echogenicity. Dr. just prescribed vitex. I have been in pain everyday. Do I need to pursue this further or is vitex sufficient enough for treating thickened endometrium? Thanks
thank you so much for asking your question on healthcare magic. I will do my best to help you.
Viterbo alone is not enough to treat a thickened endometrium. however, depending on your age and time of cycle and symptoms, a thickened endometrium like the one described in your ultrasound may not require treatment at all.
if you are post menopausal, it definetly would require at least a biopsy take sure there is no cancer or hyperplasia. however, if you are having cycles, at certain times during your cycle a slightly thickened endometrium could be completely normal. I those cases, Vitex alone might be enough to treat mild symptoms, depending on what they are.
I hope this helps. please let me know if you have any more questions.
