My son just started taking vyvance yesterday and his heart did race. i told him not to worry and that there would be some side effects that would subside as he progressed. Hello Your son is taking "VYVANSE " i.e. lisdexamfetamine dimesylate and advised for ADHD . Your assessment is correct . Yes your son can start track at school without any problem. Yes with medication he can start track as well as gym . This will increase the potency of child . Certain side effects :nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort , metallic taste , agitation , palpitation , restless ( these are common side effects ) and patient be accustomed to this drug after some time.
