Does Xarelto Cause Difficulty In Swallowing?

Dr put me on xarelto for blood clots. Yesterday I couldn t swallow my vitamin pill today had a hard time taking my regular pills .but seem ok after a while can drink and eat ok during the day. I sleep sitting up in chair and take two prilosec in the afternoon so i don t think its acid reflux. can these pills cause this to happen

I can understand your husband discomfort. Cough and sudden weight loss while on Xarelto.

Reduction of stroke and blood clots in people with atrial fibrillation, blood clots in the legs and lungs, prevention of blood clots after knee or hip replacement surgery. Xarelto is considered a selective anticoagulant in that it only interferes with the one factor, Factor Xa, thereby interacting with less of the body’s natural functions.

Xarelto (Rivaroxaban) is indicated
1) to reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) by preventing the formation of blood clots.
2) It is also used as a treatment and maintenance drug for deep vein thrombosis (DVT)

Side effects:
1)Shortness of breath, difficulty on swallowing
2) Weakness or difficulty exercising,
3) Chest pain,
4) Dizziness or fainting, confusion.

Take care and try to avoid dosage of Xarelto.
