Does A Stelara Shot Cause Difficulty In Swallowing And Pain Between The Ribcage?
I had a stelara injection one week ago. I have a hard time swallowing because I have pain at the top of my stomach between my ribs. I can swallow soft foods but not even bread. I am sleeping lots. I have a yeast infection in my mouth and feel as though my throat is getting sore. Is this normal with stelara?
As this is newer monoclonal antibody, except allergic reaction not much side effects are clearly identified yet. However while on therapy if you get such type of fungal (yeast) or bacterial infection, immediate treatment is required.
As immunity is somewhat compromised while taking this type of medications, so you need to take care of such opportunistic infection. My advice is to consult treating doctor and make aware him about the infection.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
