Does A Borderline Diabetic Patient Need To Monitor His Sugar Levels Regularly ?
hello I have a friend that her doctor told her she was a borderline diabetic he put her on medication but she never checks her blood sugar is that ok because I am a nurse and every diabetic I have work with they check their blood sugar before each meal. I keep telling her she need to see another dr. because this doesn't seem right.
If the blood sugar level is upper limit of normal range then sugar level can be controlled by diet restriction. There is no need for diabetic medication. If she taking the medicines then it is necessary to adjust the dose according to her sugar levels. Continuous monitoring of Fasting and PP sugar level in this case is must because hypoglycemia is more critical than high blood sugar.
