Does A Colonoscopy Cause Severe Pain Under The Sternum And Back?
I woke with severe pain in region just under my sternum. If I lay down it hurts around to my back. Thought it may be trapped gas so took several Gaviscon tabs and Gas Ex. No relief. Took BP and it was 146/92 and pulse 56. Pain persists. Had colonoscopy this Tuesday. Could this be related?

Hi,
It is highly unlikely that substernal pain related to colonoscopy procedure done several days before. It is likely a musculoskeletal (costochondritis) or gastrointestinal (gastroesophageal reflux) origin.
If the pain persists you are better to see your doctor. Pleurisy or heart problems may also present with similar symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
