Does A Fluid Filled Sack Behind The Knee Cause Any Adverse Health Effects?

I have a large fluid filled sack behind my knee. About 7 months now and when I bend knee my whole knee area is tight and I do not have full range of motion. Have appt but not for another month and going scuba diving Monday. Will pressure at depth have any adverse effects on this before I have it drained?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Consult an orthopedician and get it drained.

If it is kept for long, it might cause nerve compression in the long run and can cause unwanted complications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
