Hi,
Noted the history of a small lump on lower knuckle of right ring finger, painless unless something put on pressure on it, googled to know this may be cyst and may go away on its own.
True to some extent. If the swelling is cystic then it may go away on its own.
But it is necessary to make a certain diagnosis and to see for other possibilities like
dermoid cyst, inclusion cyst,
tenosynovitis and so on.
Hence it is needed to see a Doctor to know the exact diagnosis by clinical evaluation.
If this is not a
simple cyst then I would advise you the following:An anti-inflammatory medication like
Ibuprofen.
If this is dermoid or so then you may need surgical excision for 2 reasons.
The first being that the part is removed which is not the part of hte body.
Histopathology examination will determine the exact diagnosis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
