Does A Scar Tissue At The Surgery Site Prevent One From Having A Laparoscopy?
Yes I have had my ascending colon removed for a blockage in 2003. I m 74 and in good health but am almost sure I have a gall bladder problem. I will have an ultrasound run tomorrow. When you have had surgery in the past does that usually prevent laparoscopy surgery because of scar tissue lgregory2801 @charter.net.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Old abdominal surgery doesn't hamper the current surgery. I suggest you wait for your ultrasound results and then let the doctor decide whether you need gallbladder removal or not.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
