Does A Sound In Ankle Caused Due To Jumping, Which Was Followed By Pain, Need Doctor's Attention?

I was listening to music, and jumping up and down. I fell down, and heard my ankle having a pop noise followed by some pain. I'm pretty strong, by that I mean, if I get an injury, I usually suck it up, and not tell anybody. I don't really know what to do right now. I wrapped my foot and ankle with those wrap things. I don't want to go to the doctor. What's wrong with it? What should I do?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that you injured a tendon in the ankle and this was the popping noise that you heard.

It would be best to go to the doctor to determine if this is the case.

Treatment would depend on the severity of the injury. If it is not severe then the treatment would be conservative.
This means - rest, compression bandage to reduce the swelling, ice therapy applied to the injured area.

I hope this helps
