Does Accidentally Falling Asleep With Contacts Cause Infections?
I fell asleep in my contacts. I immediately took them out after waking up and haven t had them in for 3-3.5 hours. I have really bad vision and, although I m sure it s frowned upon by my eye doctor, I rely only on contacts and do not own a pair of prescription eyeglasses. I have 2 questions: how long until I can put a new pair of contacts in (I m throwing out the pair I just had out of fear of bacteria problems)? Secondly, I spent a bit too much time reading about the horrific things that can happen if you never take them out or if you sleep in them. I tend to have issues with exhaustion and fall asleep in them more times than I would care to admit. Should I be seriously concerned and doing something about potential bacterial infections? Is there any OTC drops or ointments I can get tonight that could help alleviate any potential problems? Thank you so much!
You should remove the cotactlens at bedtime. now you should go for refraction and keep the prescription with you. order for specs and keep it for emergency. it causes dry eye so keep a artificial tear eye drop. You can put it in your eye at night
