Does Acidity Cause Palpitations And Shortness Of Breath?
I was out walking my cat tonight..and suddenly I felt out of breath...and my heart was beating very fast...it s true I was going a little fast and going up a little hill....I had to stop and bend down with my hands on my knees and trying to concentrate on keeping calm ...then it slowed down...could it depend on acidity from what I had to eat for supper?
Hello.... According to your description, breathless could be due to multiple reasons. First of all if you walk in hurry with an uphill then definitely you will feel breathless as this happened with you. Sometimes, gaseous distension may cause breathless of acute onset generally at night after dinner. This gaseous distension pushes diaphragm upward that may lead to breathlessness due to reduced lung capacity. Other wise another cardiac reasons are there for acute breathlessness. But most of time, some associated factors are there like hypertension, diabetes, heart disease. So in my opinion, if you have no other high risk factors and no significant past history or similar complains then cause of acute breathless may be due to physical exertion or gaseous distension after dinner.
Thank You
