Does Allergy To Peppermint Shampoo Cause Nausea And Stomach Ache?

MY DAUGHTER HAS BEEN HAVING STOMACH ACHE,NAUSEA AND SOME VOMITTING IN THE MORNINGS MOSTLY.SHE ALSO APPEARED WITH A FINE LACELIKE RASH ON HER STOMACH AREA. SHE HAS RECENTLY BEEN USING LICELOGIC PEPPERMINT HAIR SHAMPOO TO TREAT LICE. IS IT POSSIBLE THAT SHE IS HAVING AN ALLERGIC REACTION TO THE SHAMPOO? once the early morning time passes she is usually feeling fine.

I have gone through your query and I understand your concern.

If the onset of your daughter's symptoms coincides with the beginning of usage of the anti-lice shampoo, then it is very possible that they are due to allergy to that shampoo. Hence, I suggest that you stop using that shampoo and just observe. If no more symptoms, it almost confirms allergy.

Consult your dermatologist or paediatrician if the problem persists. She may need some allergy tests and anti allergy medications for a short period of time. She should do fine with them.

Please answer a few questions to help you better:
1. What is the age of your daughter?
2. Any previous similar symptoms?
3. Is she allergic to any particular medicine(s)?
4. Is she a wheezer (or asthmatic)?
5. Any other symptom(s) she has, apart from the ones that you have mentioned?
