Does Alzheimer's Disease Cause A Patient To Be Overly Lethargic?

My father has moderate alzheimers. About once a month he has been having these spells where is seems to be incoherent and doesn't know where he is & he has been living in his house the last 50yrs. He does know my mother (caregiver). He lays on the floor & rolls back and forth. He almost seems to be lethargic. Is this strange behavior for someone with alzheimers or could it be something else going on with his health?
