Does An Elevated ALP Mean An Infection With HBV ?

My children ALP is elevated their valuse is 172 ( 50 - 126) the remaining LFT are normal and hbsag negetive. Being their father my personal record is HBV inactive carrier. Only ALP elevated means they infected with hbv?

Good Day
You need to check other HBV indices like Anti-HBcAg, HBeAg also. Without this nothing can be said about transmission. ALP is normal and it does not indicate that they are infected. Nothing to worry. It is abnormal only if rained more than 3 times the normal value. Kindly get the other Hepatitis B tests done as well and consult with your Doctor about the risk of transmission to others.
