Does An Insect Bite Cause Inflammation And Bruising Under The Skin?

i was bitten by something 2 days ago in the garden started out to be a tiny little bite well yesterday its all red inflamed and is the size of my palm and all pin prickly also has a reddish bloody looking bruise but looks under the skin is this normal ?
