Does An Motor Accident Cause Traumatic Cataract?

I have no history of vision problems, nor do I wear glasses or contacts. Recently, I was involved in an automobile accident. I was was rearended, very forcefully, which caused me to strike the back of my head against the head rest. There were no air bag deployments, but I developed a traumatic cataract . Do you believe this was caused from my accident?

Hello
Welcome to health care magic.

I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you are having cataract which developed following trauma.
The injury which you have described can cause concussion cataract and it is called as rosette cataract or concussion cataract.
This needs surgery if it is significant.
Hence I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist for examination and treatment accordingly.

Hope the information is helpful to you.

Thank you
